We are delighted to be part of The Big Lunch this year.
The Big Lunch is a very simple idea from the Eden Project. The aim is to get as many people as possible across the whole of the UK to have lunch with their neighbours annually on the first Sunday in June in a simple act of community, friendship and fun.
Since starting in 2009, thousands of Big Lunches have taken place in all types of communities across the UK. Last year 3.65 million people took to their streets, gardens and community spaces for the fifth annual Big Lunch.
So why not grab a blanket and your picnic and join us for some horsey fun and games. We will be offering pony rides and having a bake sale in aid of our Pony Club.
Picnic baskets open from 11am until 3pm on Sunday the 1st of June.

Olympic legacy programme in action at Iver Heath based riding school
Leaping ponies, hounds jumping through hoops and afternoon tea will mark the launch of London 2012 legacy programme at Moorwards Farm Equestrian Coaching Facility. On Sunday 23rd February local crowds including World Class Programme event rider Laura Collett will descend on the Iver Heath based equestrian centre to celebrate the equestrian legacy and encourage more people into the saddle.
Moorwards Farm will host an open day sampling the delights of equestrian sport and celebrating the launch of Take Back The Reins (TBTR) in their centre. TBTR is a series of riding lessons aimed at adults who want to improve their confidence, get fit and have a giggle in the saddle. The seven week programme was developed by Hoof, the British Equestrian Federation’s Olympic and Paralympic legacy scheme, and is delivered through approved riding schools across England.
The Pony Club approved centre are inviting locals to drop by between 12am- 4pm and find out what Moorwards Farm has to offer! Visitors will enjoy demonstrations from the local Pony Club, a traditional afternoon tea, pony rides as well as an educational demonstration from British Eventing UKCC accredited coach and judge Sue Edwards. Guests will also be invited to meet World Class Programme event rider Laura Collett, who has taken on the ride of National Hunt champion Kauto Star. The UK Sport lottery funded rider will be sharing her equestrian tales and encouraging people to try out horse riding.
As a keen advocate of the sport Moorwards Farm manager Jodie Maile has played a pivotal role in the equestrian legacy programme; through working as a Regional Chair in the London area for the Hoof programme Jodie has helped the industry to grow and enticed more people to discover their love for horses.
"We are all excited to be celebrating our 1st Birthday with the local community and potential and existing customers. At Moorwards we believe horses and ponies are for everyone and we are looking forward to this opportunity to showcase what we have to offer. "
